Twenty-five-year industry veteran Christopher Sloan has been appointed as the executive director of the Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority (IFPA), effective immediately. Sloan most recently worked as a Corporate Special Investigative Unit Coordinator for PMA Companies based out of Pittsburgh and served as the Board Chairman of IFPA.  Sloan replaces departing executive director Tom Donahue. IFPA also announced that Andrea Fury of State Farm Insurance has been appointed as the new Chair of the IFPA Board of Directors.

As the state’s leading insurance fraud fighter, Sloan will continue to strengthen IFPA’s national reputation in addressing insurance fraud by supporting law enforcement personnel that aggressively investigate and prosecute insurance fraud. He also will oversee IFPA’s award-winning public awareness campaign that educates Pennsylvanians about the nature and severity of insurance fraud along with the consequences including criminal prosecution, higher premiums for all policyholders, and the risk to people and property.

“My goal is to build on IFPA’s track record of success in the prevention of insurance fraud across the state,” said Sloan. “IFPA plays a leadership role in communicating to the public that insurance fraud is a not a victimless crime and providing resources and support to Pennsylvania’s fraud fighters who investigate and prosecute it.”
